Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C - Episode 03

Third episode and the third Stand Alone, this one is, at least, curious.

First time I saw it a few years ago I didn't like it so much and even avoided it. Now, I just consider it "cute".

The story begins when same model androids apparently seem to commit suicide and Section 9 is called for investigation.

The episode follows the same basic investigation formula and differently from the first and second, this one doesn't have no action scenes whatsoever and it is lighter in theme and tone.

Some philosophical questions are suggested, like here:

Now and future trend

 And here:
Right
But the discussions are left aside and the few twenty minutes are, deep down, a homage to a old French film, À bout de souffle, and to actress Jean Seberg.

Jeri
Jean Seberg

Another French film is alluded here, also directed by Jean-Luc Godard, that as soon as I finish all the GitS I will review it too, since it looks like it has some proto-cyberpunk themes:

Alphaville

Until the episode end the case is solved but it would be interesting if the final fate of the Jeri model would be shown, even if with a fast throw away line, since she's the last unit remaning.

Half filler, part homage, this one is not so bad. It's worth to give it a second chance but nothing that leaves you Breathless, get it?

And to finish:

Sigh
